Jack and Jack

It has been awhile since I posted anything about my darling son. You might have forgotten my main job is taking care of him since I have only posted deals here in the last little while. But don't worry the Jackmeister is not neglected for the most part, and I usually get to do my deal shopping and things when he's sleeping or when Eric's home from work. (Just for those of you that were getting a little worried/concerned. :)

UPDATES! and then a video to prove it. He started rolling from his back to his stomach- hooray! It was about three weeks ago when he just figured it out. He's also talking and putting lots of air through his closed lips to make a BBBBBB sound. We thought it was to tell his grandma Sharon Happy Birthday. (Happy birthday again mom!) Warning**In this video many of you will also see Jack whining and crying- things that might warp your reality of the chill never upset child Jack usually is.** Don't watch it if you can't handle those perceptions to be dashed.

He also has mastered the baby cereals- and vegetables and so we have moved slowly onto fruits. Mainly I have had him taste bananas and a tiny bit of apple juice mixed with lots of water for him to practice using his sippy cup.

He has regressed in his sleep habits. It seems since he has been sick and hasn't been able to breathe sleeping on his stomach, but doesn't stay asleep if he sleeps on his back, we have quite the predicament. No back or stomach sleeping. And no more 10-11 hour sleeping through the night. He has been getting better, but still wakes up several times through the night. I tried a Vick's vaporizer, but do you have any thoughts or helping ideas?

But other than that, life is great. We're headed to California this week to visit our friends the Harmons and we'll also stop off in Nevada to visit the Pixtons. We're super stoked! (A little extra vacation time Eric needs to use up from last year, cheap gas prices, friends we miss and want to see again=California here we come!)

And of course some deal tips for the week. Albertsons is having a quaker sale right now-

1. Quaker boxes of cold and hot cereal and granola bars are on sale at $2.00 a box
2. Buy 4 of them in one transaction you get $2.00 automatically off making them $1.50 per box.
3. Use 4 $1.00 off coupons printed from here (scroll down to the quaker part, click on the link for the coupon)- or one from your newspaper in the past few weeks (simple harvest multigrain) or one from a blinkie right inside the store. (for $1.00 off weight control, less sugar or high fiber boxes)
4. You just bought 4 boxes of instant healthy hot cereal at 50 cents a box!

I just got 12 boxes of this instant cereal, and 2 bags of bows (90% off christmas stuff right now) for $1.87! (I used one of my $5 coupons from last week, and 12 coupons for $1.00 off each box of cereal.)

Maceys has two items for a great deal that are awesome for food storage. A 24 pack of Dannon drinking water for $2.50 (That's 10 cents a bottle! And 5 gal food storage buckets for $2.99- NEW! This is a SCREAMING deal for a new round bucket. I got my 4 gal buckets for $1.25 from a cherry place- but these buckets aren't as big or as good of quality and I had to wash them out. (I think you can still look under the food storage section on KSL classifieds and they still have some of these buckets if you want.) If you've been waiting for a deal on round 5 gallon buckets for food storage this is it!

Have a fantastically happy day!

It's so fun that he's starting to make little talking sounds! It just gets better all the time--at least I think so. As for the sleeping-Heh heh. Oh sorry, did I just chuckle? The best solution I have found, is to make my husband take care of the sleeping issues, and get a really loud humidifier for my room at night... Okay, but really, not getting sleep is really hard, I feel for you. Just hang in there until Jack is not congested or coughing at night, and hopefully he'll get right back on track!

I can't believe how much Jack has grown since I saw him last. He's going to be crawling one of these days!

Jack is getting so big-rolling and getting up on hands and knees! As for the sleeping thing, I know that when babies are on the verge of becoming more mobile or they just discover a new way to move, they often wake at unusual times at night to practice. I know Scott did this. And having the sniffles definitely would not help! Poor Jack.

If this is as upset as Jack gets you have not dashed any of my perceptions (Bryan was as shocked as I when we watched the movie. He said, "I though she said he got upset in this video" - he's an angel! I love my little lucas oh so much, but angel would not be a very good adjetive to describe him :)

"Hello new world," says Avey.

Well well here we are. A long road of pregnancy, a long way from home, and a VERY short labor everything came out perfectly (pardon the pun). At 12:01 a.m. on December 8, 2009 Avey _____* Stevenson was born. She weighs 9 pounds, 2.2 Ounces and measures 21 cm in length. She has red hair (arguably strawberry blond), dark blue eyes, chubby cheeks, and a fabulously pleasant disposition. *We are still torn about the middle name. The competing middle names are JoAnna, Kristine, or Anne. This was a miracle in timing. I guess that means that Avey will be a punctual person throughout her life. Brooke called me (Eric) on the way home from picking up Sharon (Brooke's mom) from the airport stating contractions were coming every 4 minutes. We hadn't even gotten to our house when she called with "the voice" that told us to hurry up 'cause the baby is coming. That was a little after 10:30. We rushed her to the hospital down the road, I dropped Jack off at the neighbors house, an...

News Flash!

This is an 11 week ultrasound, and looks close to what my ultrasound looked like, I just can't find where my original went. Oh well, so is the sad life of a second child. Yes! It is true! I am 11 weeks pregnant! I was supposed to be 12 weeks pregnant today, but when my doctor measured the size of the baby it was a week smaller than 12 weeks, even when he did it twice. So rather than my due date being December 1st, it has gotten pushed back to December 8th. I get to be 11 weeks along for two weeks! Awesome! It's really not that bad, and I normally wouldn't wouldn't tell anyone until at least 12 weeks, but the doctor found a heartbeat, and says everything looks healthy and good to go, so I don't want to wait to tell people anymore! (Besides I "technically" waited until I was 12 weeks. :) For those that are dying to know I have definitely felt better than I did with Jack. I haven't taken any medicine to help with the nausea- and that could be ...

Another Grocery Craze!

After going to Albertsons this morning (6:15 AM- don't you worry, long story) and bringing in all the groceries from the car, Eric requested that I take pictures of everything and the receipts. So per request of him, this post is here. Here's all the stuff with Jack in the middle (Well almost all of it, Eric took a bunch of it to work today before I took this picture.) Don't worry, Jack wasn't part of the groceries I bought. All-in-all I got: 17 boxes of cereal 4 bottles of Pantene Pro-V 3 packages of Pampers Diapers 2 Fiber One Pancake Mixes 3 Bisquick mixes 1 Toaster Streudel (I loved those in middle school after going to the temple and having breakfast with friends) 2 Dawn dish washing liquids (28 oz each) 2 things of Tide (64 loads each) 3 BC pre-made frosting 2 Fiber One Toaster Pastries 8 Pack of Bounty Giant Paper Towels 2 boxes of Gushers 2 boxes Gogurt 2 packages butter 1 Malt O meal cereal 1 32 oz block of cheese Total without coupons: $233....
