New Blog

I just started a new blog, and would love for you to join me there. It's called Scripture Cravings , and I don't know what type of blog it is yet, but I just had some thoughts I wanted to share, and I hope you enjoy it. Happy Palm Sunday everyone!

Spring Break

This week was spring break for Eric's college. We had a lot of fun! Monday it was POURING rain all day, so after we picked up Eric at work we went to run some errands at the mall. (Rather than Eric going to class) That took longer than we anticipated, and we remembered we had a Cracker Barrel gift card from Amy and Josh for Eric's birthday so we decided to get our dinner there. It was delicious! I got the sour dough french toast breakfast and Eric got the chicken fried steak dinner. MMMM! They had crayons and something for Jack to color, and a special chair for Avey's carseat. Jack could even eat the cornbread (no milk). We loved it, and Jack stole the hearts of all the workers and diners there. They all knew his name by the end of our feast. Thanks Amy and Josh! Avey just chilling in her carseat. The fun rocking chairs- even one that was Jack sized. Then on Tuesday the rain completely cleared up and it was a GORGEOUS day. (Actually the weather has been incredi...

Diary of a Dairy Allergy Mom

So I need to work on my title a little. But it's true, Jack has a dairy allergy. Not just the he needs lactose added to his milk to allow his stomach to digest it properly (aka drinking Lactaid milk), he cannot have dairy. (Although we're not sure what part of the dairy he's allergic to, the protein, the lecithin, etc.) I was confused at first because we are HUGE believers in milk and milk products in this family. Cheese, yogurt and cows milk are three staples we almost always have in our house, and things Jack has eaten for almost 9 months at almost every meal without any problems. And so I was wondering how he could be completely fine one day and then totally allergic this next. My doctor seems to think Jack was borderline allergic, and then got a virus that tipped his stomach over the scale to develop this allergy. it's just what happens in kids. (And I hear the same thing happens when the allergy is gone, it will just randomly leave one day.) At first it wa...

Videos, long overdue.

Here are some videos of Avey talking and Jack dancing. Enjoy. They aren't crazy exciting, but hey, as promised to the families. Avey talking. There is such a fine line between laughing and crying. Avey talking in IKEA Jack Dancing with Elmo to Shakira Jack playing with woodchips at the park. He thinks he's the most hilarious little guy, and I have to agree with him. :) P.S. I haven't been able to figure out the pictures in the Boston temple post right below this one. Sometimes they pop up for me, and other times they don't. I will officially download the pictures and have it up for you sometime this week, well - hopefully.

Boston from a few weeks ago

I totally forgot to post these pictures from an adventure a few weeks ago. We were going to visit the Boston temple one Saturday and called up one of Eric's old friends to see if we could visit while out there. Because of the awesome person she is she offered for us to stay overnight, and watch our kids while we were at the temple! It was truly a delightful trip, and also fun as Guinevere has two kids close to our kids age. She is also the amazing one that took these pictures for us. Thanks again for such a great trip! Stopping by the home of Little Women. Next time we'll actually go inside with a free library museum pass. :) "Little Women" (Eric's idea.) It was crazy bright, here's the picture before... And the picture after with our eyes open. On our way to the North bridge connecting Lexington and Concord. Eric and Clark re-enacting the British and American battle here with snowballs. And more At the monument The Minute Man statue Did ...

Busy Weekend=Long Post

We have had quite the busy, but wicked fun weekend. (look at the New England jargon slipping in.) Thursday. I picked up Eric from work and told him we were going on a surprise adventure. We had a $10 off any purchase card at Red Lobster that was going to expire that night, with a $3 off 2 lunch entrees purchase. And Eric had mentioned several times he wanted to visit IKEA out here. Considering IKEA is 1 hour away, but Red Lobster is on the route to IKEA- I decided to make a night of it with the kids. Drive to Red Lobster for 30 minutes, stop have a rest for the kids, then drive to IKEA. Play there for awhile and drive back from at Jack's bedtime so he can sleep away the second hour. Traffic was fabulous by the way until we hit the NY border to get off on the last exit to New Haven CT. And then of course traffic is at a stand still. :) But all in all it was a great adventure, spontaneous and we all had a lot of fun. And our subtotal was $5 for 2 lunch entrees including a g...
