Happy Birthday AMY!!!!

AMY-LYNN-STER, Not really your full name, but I kind of like it! Happy Birthday! My little sister that is just underneath me whom I did not get along with for the first few years of our lives, but now we are great friends. Funny story about that- I guess I wasn't very nice to my sister growing up because when I wanted to move downstairs to my OWN bedroom and not have to share a room with her anymore, my mom said I needed to be nice to her for a week straight. Smart mom. Well... it took me three months to earn that one week straight. Shocking I know, but we were SOOO different, and I don't think I was perfect to her afterward- but that's what family is for right? Learning how to love despite seeing and feeling ALL of our flaws. Amy you're a trooper! I also remember how she loved to sing when she was little, and she was even in a singing group that performed and she LOVED being the center of attention. We have a movie we made for FHE once, and the whole movie is g...

Soap?

My son ate soap in the bathroom yesterday. The Zest blue soap was within his reach, and of course I thought the bathroom door was shut when in actuality it wasn't. He spits out regular food like tomatoes and lettuce, and voluntarily puts soap, grass and dirt in his mouth? (Isn't lettuce like grass?) I just don't understand the workings of a baby. P.S. We put the toilet paper back up on the top of the toliet where he can't reach it, and so that's why he didn't get into the toilet paper this time at least. But if you visit our house, feel free to put it back on the roll if that's important to you. We have had several guests over and usually by the end of their stay the toliet paper is back on the roll, and we just take it off again. We're really not lazy, just babyproofing. :)

Jack's new favorite place

Jack loves the bathroom. We are getting better at remembering to close the door so he can't get into it, but yesterday I was working on something in the living room and thought the bathroom door was closed, and after a few minutes of him being quiet I went to check on him and was welcomed by this. Our new toilet paper is harder to get off the roll thank goodness, or I'm sure it would have been completely off the roll. But yes, that is Jack EATING the toilet paper.

News Flash!

This is an 11 week ultrasound, and looks close to what my ultrasound looked like, I just can't find where my original went. Oh well, so is the sad life of a second child. Yes! It is true! I am 11 weeks pregnant! I was supposed to be 12 weeks pregnant today, but when my doctor measured the size of the baby it was a week smaller than 12 weeks, even when he did it twice. So rather than my due date being December 1st, it has gotten pushed back to December 8th. I get to be 11 weeks along for two weeks! Awesome! It's really not that bad, and I normally wouldn't wouldn't tell anyone until at least 12 weeks, but the doctor found a heartbeat, and says everything looks healthy and good to go, so I don't want to wait to tell people anymore! (Besides I "technically" waited until I was 12 weeks. :) For those that are dying to know I have definitely felt better than I did with Jack. I haven't taken any medicine to help with the nausea- and that could be ...

Mothers Day

My mom snuggling with Jack when he's just a month old. I'm only two days behind, that's not too bad right? Happy Mothers Day to all you mothers, soon to be mothers, and those that desire to be mothers. But especially my mom. I don't think I could have asked for a better mom, she still amazes me everyday. I love you mom! Can I also say that I absolutely love being a mom? It probably doesn't help that I have such a chill laid back little guy for my first, but I absolutely LOVE it! I love coming in to his bedroom after he's awake from a nap and he's just talking to himself, and then he sees me and starts smiling or laughing. I love how he lets me hold him and kiss and rock him when he gets hurt or is scared or tired. I love how he now starts getting upset when I shut the door to the bathroom as he tries to crawl there faster than I can get to it, or I take something away from him he could get hurt with, or a book he would rip to shreds, because that me...

Random ramblings

I realize it has been awhile since I have posted. But don't think I haven't tried to post things. I tried to get Jack standing by himself and climbing up the stairs, but the three times I have video taped him it just didn't work out. Partly because I was the one filming him and he kept wanting to climb up on my lap, so maybe Eric can help me make a fun video soon. Until then I will just have to update you video and picture less. First off, Eric and I ran our first 5K together last Saturday! It was pretty last minute as I called to talk to my dad about how expensive 5K's were (I was trying to sign up for one because it was one of our new years resolutions) and my mom said my brothers' school was hosting a 5K fundraiser for their library that Saturday. Since we were coming up to the WJ anyway we decided to run it. Saturday morning rolled around and consequently Jack slept very poorly that night, so I wasn't feeling too hot, and I asked Eric- do you really w...
