The Stevenson Story

As always I'm trying to play catchup here- but catchup of the last two weeks isn't as bad as catch up on the last 2 months. :) We went to the Carl Bloch exhibit at BYU. It was fantastic and inspiring. We wanted to enjoy the exhibit and so didn't take any pictures, but this was from the exhibit next door, art with words/books was the theme. So this is a tower made of books. Kind of fun. Becca came to corral our kids so we could enjoy the exhibit, she is the best! This is Avey just lounging in her arms at lunch. The next day we had a disneyland party with Eric's family to get us excited about the trip, and talk about details. Kristen and Carol planned most of it, and it was so fun! This is our Disneyland countdown chain- everyday Jack has been able to take a chain off to let him know when we leave for CA. We're down to one chain! Then they do the Disneyland dance. Knowing Emily like the musician I do I knew it would have to be pretty stellar to even look at it, let alone enroll her child in it. Then a few days later I read about another college music major friend Leslie that had just enrolled her daughter and son in the very same program, just in a different city. She also raved about how incredible it was and what musical concepts her kids were grasping at such young ages, and that it was all done through PLAY, so her kids were loving the class but had no idea they were learning such crucial musical concepts at such a young age. While I was singing in Ogden Saturday night my family went to the ward beach party. Jack's cousin Scott also joined in on the fun. Outside posing in front of the house. This was the first time Jack or Avey had played in the fountains. Then we went to the church history museum to check out the new children's area that our friends have been raving about. It was great! Jack with the chickens. Avey loved this kitchen area. Driving to who knows where. Then yesterday it was super windy, so we grabbed a dollar store kite and tried to it out. Getting out on the field. Previous 1/1 Next I had the marvelous opportunity to sing in the Lamb of God production this past weekend. Rob Gardner is the composer and conductor, and if you haven't heard of him you should familiarize yourself with him because he has talent I have not seen personally in a composer ever. (Not that I know that many composers... but still.) I sang previously for him with his Joseph Smith oratorio that I fell in love with as well. Lamb of God was a work about the Savior's Atonement. It was just what my soul needed this weekend. I was kind of worried that the people I was singing with this time weren't quite as high of caliber as they were last time, but when we put out a near perfect experience on Saturday night in Ogden- I felt much much better about the group.
