The Stevenson Story

We have been having fun out here in the Wild West of Utah. And wild the weather has for sure been as yesterday when it snowed for three hours. Yep, it's almost June and it snowed. Good thing I packed Jack and Avey one outfit of warm clothes and jackets so if we went up in the mountains they would be warm enough. Their shorts have barely gotten any use. Anyway, we are loving being here, and although I am not good at taking a camera with me anymore since I'm used to Eric having his i-phone that can take pictures wherever we are, (we miss you honey! I always start my day off by scanning a few deal blogs and checking my email. I like to do this at the beginning of the day, so if something comes up that is a must do deal I can remember to go to Jamba Juice for a free smoothie that night for family night or whatnot. Monday started as any other. I checked my email and saw that Jet Blue was having its 10 year anniversary sale. I saw that they were offering $10 deals for the remaining seats on their flights the next two days. (Tue and Wed- so I could not get the $10 flight for two weeks out or two months later) I checked it not really expecting to see any flights from Massachusetts to Salt Lake, but thought why not. Low and behold they did have several flights out on Tuesday and Wednesday. Our great friends the Manzis invited us over for a little Cinco de Mayo celebration last night. It had DELISH food but more importantly great people with great fun. Jack had the time of his life, and was a little punch happy when we left at 9:00 PM. He really couldn't stop laughing at himself in the car, although Avey needed him to be a little quieter because she wanted to go to sleep and couldn't with his lots of laughing. Has it been almost a week and a half since I last posted something? Wow. Here is the randomness of our life recently. Our car’s check engine light has been on since driving out here in September. We haven't had the money to fix the car, so we just prayed it would still work until we got the money to fix it. Hooray for a tax refund and one of our friends that recommended a great garage to us. The best part is it is actually one block from our house. Translation? We didn't need anyone to help drop off the car and pick it up later that day. We just dropped it off, walked home, then walked back to pick it up. (And we had a great picnic at the park in the midst of that waiting for it to get fixed.) Not only that, it was about $500 cheaper than we thought it would be to get it fixed. HOORAY!!! Batteries. We go through them like crazy. Does anyone else?
