Thanksgiving and Becca's visit

Thanksgiving was so great this year!  Since I am one month away from having this baby we opted not to travel to family this holiday, but my awesome sister Becca came up for a wedding and stayed with us the rest of the week!  Here are a few of the things we did.  I told Jack on Thanksgiving day he could stay in his pajamas until right before we had to leave for Thanksgiving dinner, so here he is doing a puzzle midday in his pj's.  Taking a quick nap BEFORE eating the turkey.  I love sleeping kids, yes that's you too Becca!  Finishing the Thanksgiving food prep.  Eric's friend Matt grew up in Eric's ward and was a close family friend.  They recently moved to Vancouver, and we have done a few things together since then.  They are so great and it really feels like family when we get together!  The delicious food!  I love this bathroom shot of me, Becca and Avey  The kids table. ...

Halloween 2012

Our first Halloween event was at the children's museum for their Halloween day.  There were so many awesome halloween projects that I didn't have to clean up after and I pretty much got mom of the year for taking my kids.  Thanks Justine for telling me about it and then going with us! Jack giving his scary face in the "world's smallest haunted house" (A cardboard box with flashlights and paper bats and pillows inside it.) A projector set up with shadow halloween puppets you could play with.  Justine and her cute twin girls are to the left of Jack and Avey.                                      The halloween bubble lab was amazing with all the lights off except a black light and glow in the dark bubbles, a color changing potion station, magic goo drizzling out of a pot that also glowed, and lots of other cool art glow in the dark activities.    ...

Happy October!

We have had such a fun October so far!   Aunt Amy sent us this card that the kids love to put on as their kitty mask.    Because why not? Pumpkin painting at the beginning of the month.  And carving different ones later in the month. Pikachu and a doggie. Jack's picture of his pumpkin, I'm thinking here's a future in photography. :) Roloff Farms Pumpkin Patch  Climbing to the top of the hay bales.  And jumping down the hay bales. They loved the petting zoo.  Climbing on these tires was darling to watch Jack holding Avey's hand and helping her around them.  And why would you not need a huge wooden chair in your pumpkin patch?  And playing in the tepee they had set up. Eric's favorite picture from the afternoon. While apple picking another day Avey and Jack LOVED climbing up in the smaller trees that were close by.  My kids are getting so big and inde...

September recap

Fall, my favorite time of year.  But I can't say September really had a lot of "fall" weather.  Which reminds me to say since this is my journal of sorts, I think the seasons are shifting.  It gets cooler later in the fall.  August seems to just hang out on the hot summer button, and September doesn't really start cooling down into sweater weather like normal.  (For the past two falls at least!) I have been trying to be present in the moment living life more and not taking as many pictures when we do things so I don't just do things to think of how this will look on our blog.  But I do love that my blog is my journal, and that it has pictures to look at to also help me remember our life better at each stage, so I have been working on finding a balance between the two.  That is the reason for blogging less in general from me lately. I love structure and schedules, so September and fall time is especially great for me because usually people start get...
