New camera, smiling, hair cut, mtns, cabin again, wisdom teeth

Wow, so this really is like my real journal. I'm writing about 5 completely different things at once. I love my mom life. Warning- this post contains tons of pictures (because of the new camera). I don't know what this could cause, but let's be honest we have taken 137 pictures and we have had the camera for 5 days now. I'm narrowing down the pictures posted here considerably. And Eric, he's pretty much in love. You'll see in some of his more "artistic" pictures later. And who knew a camera could tell me that my subject is too dark and put a light on the subject automatically. Or just know what to zero in on to make crisp and clear and what could be left a little more blurry in the background to create the perfect picture. It's not about the photographer- it's all about their camera! Just kidding about that last part, but really I do have to say I as well am loving my new camera. Jack started smiling at us! He has been doing half sm...

Cabin Extravaganza

O.k. so I realize I haven't posted in almost two weeks. Funny how I thought I would have all this down time with a new baby and maybe I would even be bored, but no, now I have to catch everyone up. O.k. so new stuff. Jack is now officially huge! At his two month appointment he weighed in at... 13 lbs 9 oz. and his length was 24 inches long. My little guy is now officially a chunk- and we still love him so much! He also is amazing- he got some shots today and cried when they poked him, and then when I could pick him up and hold him, he calmed right down. I don't think I even take shots so well. Also I decided to just go for it and chop my hair off today and donate it to locks of love. Now if I were a really great blogger I would have had a before and after picture taken, but didn't remember that until I was in the chair and she had already cut off a whole bunch of hair. But I will post pictures soon. Another great thing- I get to go to night classes at education wee...

Deal Flash!

Restaurant.com is offering 80% off coupons TODAY ONLY in celebration of 8-8-08. That means you can get a $25 certificate for $2- or join the dinner of the month club for $24 (normally $120) and get a free $50 gift certificate. Check it out. The code you enter is FIRST. Also Thanksgiving point is offering $2 Tuesdays all through the month of August. Get into the gardens, dinosaur museum and other places for $2 per person- that's a great deal for Thanksgiving point. And last but not least the Home Depot offers FREE kids classes the first Saturday of each month. I know that was last Saturday- I will try to remind you closer to the September time- but log it away, and maybe plan for the future because the classes are so cool. Past classes have offered making bird houses, and toy cars, and holiday related crafts/toys. I think they get a free Home Depot kid apron too for going. We'll for sure take Jack when he's a little bit older, like 4 months. :)

Jack's Blessing

Jack Waldrop Stevenson is now official. For all of you holding off calling Jack by his name because he wasn't blessed yet, you can now join in on the name calling. (Except Jack-o-lantern Brandon or I will only call your baby Scotty and ask him to beam me up all the time.) Jack was so good for the blessing and then after at our house, even with an uncomfortable white mini-suit on and being held by probably over 30 people. He only spit up on his suit 3 times and was happy that over 30 people could and would be crammed into our little house. Jack's going to tell you about the big day from his point of view: "Mom and dad do you have to be so PDA with how much you love me?" "O.k. fine I guess you'll do it whether I like it or not." Great Grandma Jo crocheted this blanket for Eric, but just got it here in time for me! "I love to eat, can someone put something in my mouth?" "Too slow uncle Josh it looks someone put the binkie in before you cou...

Deals of the week

In the responses I received about how you guys feel about getting great deals, I think many of us are in this frugal boat together. Here are the steals I found for the week. Two websites my friends referred me to are very similar. www.fatwallet.com is the one Leslie referred me to. And www.ebates.com is the one Kristi referred me to. They both offer cash back for online purchases that you can make at like 600 stores or more. It's awesome! I like the forums on fatwallet, and I like that as soon as you register at ebates it gives you a free $10 giftcard to Target or $5 straight up. And it also gives the person that referred you a giftcard too. You just have to type in their email when you sign up to make it work. (You can type in mine if you like brooklynnster@gmail.com, or Kristi's who referred me there at kadagaba@yahoo.com). I'm not a huge online shopper, but I do buy some things, and for sure I will buy it through here now if I buy online at all. Julie refer...

Half birthday

So Eric and I have the joy of every major celebration in our household being between December 25th through February 14th. Christmas Dec.25, Eric's bday end of December, our wedding anniversary Jan. 21, Brooke's bday end of January, and Valentines day February 14th. (Jack's birthday is now the exception to that.) It makes for a fun winter and something to always look forward to in those months; but it also makes us very poor during that time to really do anything super special. So we started half celebrations. These flowers have nothing to do with this post, except Eric gave them to me when I had Jack. Aren't they gorgeous?) Now Eric's half b-day was last month- and as I was still recovering from having a baby ten days earlier- all I did is put up some decorations, sang to him and made some delicious cream cheese filled chocolate cupcakes that we cut in half and gave out to some friends in our neighborhood. Exciting I know. We went out to Magelby's (with ...

Baby party!

My brother Brandon and sister-in-law Mandi were here in Utah last week. Brandon was writing a story about the Rocky Mountain Review for the newspaper he's interning for this summer and was gone Monday and Tuesday. That meant playdate at my house for my mom and Mandi and new little nephew Scott. Jesse (maiden name Wilde) also came to visit with her two cute little girls- and we ended up eating Chinese food (thanks Mom!) and then getting pedicures while my mom watched both the boys. It was really fun. And a little crazy with three babies and a toddler. I don't know how moms with triplets do it- or for heavens sakes twins and a toddler (our friends the Hakes have this- you amaze me everyday Josh and Jessica!) Naked cousins! Naked cousins and grandma! A little snuggle time.
