4th of July!
We loved watching Liberty Kids for the weeks leading up to it and and having one of our summer classes about the 4th of July and why we celebrate it and what symbols there are associated with it and how awesome freedom in America is. The kids really were understanding it this year, and kept talking about George Washington and liberty and the symbols on the flag. We really do live in an AMAZING country, and we are so blessed to be here!!!
Eric helped our ward serve the breakfast for the neighborhood 4th of July celebration
Cute kids!!!
Getting ready for the parade.
I still don't know what Chuck E Cheese has to do with the 4th of July,
but the kids thought it was fun.
And we're off! (It's always a little slow at first...)
The kids really enjoyed the clown's show.
Face painting
Butterfly and monkey faces.
Jack chose a flag
Ellie loved the bounce house
Our good friends the Workman's invited us over to a BBQ at their house. I was enjoying it so much I didn't get a picture of our awesome hosts, but I did get a picture of the kiddos eating their popsicles.
We then set off some of our fireworks with our friends the Horrocks.
Ellie thought this house was pretty cool.
Chatting up with the Horrocks between fireworks.
We then went to Oak Hills Park to watch big fireworks with our friends the Fischers and Xanthos. (Ok we invited ourselves over and crashed their amazing fireworks spot they got because Aaron was helping with the ceremony)
It's getting darker.
Finally at 10 PM it was dark enough for some fireworks.
Ellie loved them.
It was a long and really fun day. We feel so blessed to live in such an amazing country and have so many great friends to celebrate with.
