My parents gifted me and Eric a night at a Marriott in Layton for our wedding anniversary this year. We decided to hold onto it and use it as a celebration for Eric getting a job. We also used 2 groupons for the weekend. 1 for iFly/Flowrider/ and a Rock climbing place in Ogden, and the other for Rice- an asian cuisine and sushi bar in Salt Lake. Groupon is this online deal site where they have as they say it one ridiculously huge coupon offered a day. If you decide to get it, you purchase it, and then the next day if enough people signed up for it you can then print it off and take it to that place.
Our parents had our kids, and so we had such an amazing, fun and rejuvenating Friday night and Saturday to rest and recover from 0ur crazy past two years. :)
We got to the hotel Friday night, and since my previous Friday night dinner plans fell through (Red Lobster with coupons and a gift card- I lost the gift card :( We decided to just get a Cafe Rio Pork salad and a Five Guys burger and fries- since Eric had been dying to try Five Guys and Cafe Rio sounded good to me. It was super yummy. And I love the decor in Five Guys- it pretty much is an advertisement to all the awards and quotes about how Five Guys is so amazing. It made me smile. And let me tell you that burger was delish!
We were planning to head and take a walk around the area, but I started not feeling very good after dinner, so we grabbed a Sweet Tooth Fairy cupcake and headed back to our hotel room where we ended up watching a movie.
I went to sleep at 10:30 PM- and didn't wake up until 8:30 AM the next morning! I think that was one of my favorite parts of the weekend. It was incredible. After a relaxing morning we checked out and went up to Ogden to the iFly place.

Then Eric got suited up to go indoor skydiving!
He said it was awesome, but next time he hopes he can do more tricks.
I just thought his face looked hilarious with the wind pushing it all around.
Then we went flowriding. It was supposed to just be me, but the girl was super nice and let Eric in for $10. (normally $30 for first timers) Flowrider is a standing wave that you can "surf" and boogie board on. I put "surf" in quotes because it is way different than surfing. I couldn't quite get the hang of it, but it was fun nonetheless. It is like surfing in that it normally takes you a few times or a few hours to really get the feel and hang of the waves. There were some amazing people there, and I can't wait until I get to surf on real waves sometime again.

Me- getting out. I did stay up by myself without the rope for like 10 seconds at a time, but I never really got into the relaxed I'm surfing stage.
After that we headed to Downeast in Layton where I used up the rest of my gift card from there to purchase 2 cute shirts. Then we went to Salt Lake to the Rice for dinner. It was seriously some of the best asian food and sushi that I have had ummm ever. Check it out sometime.

All in all, it was a great weekend. Thanks for both sets of parents for watching the kids for us so we could have some solid alone time. And thanks again to mis padres for the Layton Marriott gift. It was definitely a much needed and much rejuvenating weekend for me and Eric. We are seriously so blessed.
