Happy Valentines Day everyone

Isn't it so fun to get all dolled up only for each other? This is us during dinner.

Since I usually do marathon long posts, I decided this time I would break it up a little. (And I keep leaving my camera in the car with pictures from the utah symphony last week.)

Anywho- Valentines Day was such a blast this year! It started with us going to Chuck E. Cheese with the Hakes and the Peterson's. (Hakes V-day tradition every year) Super fun, Jack loved all the car rides and would hold on to the steering wheels- stand up and say over and over - ooh ooh, or oh oh oh. He probably got some disease from all the times he was eating the steering wheel and I couldn't get to him- but oh well- I guess that's the price you pay to be where a kid can be a kid! Funny story- so Andelyn couldn't stop talking about the fun she had at Chuck E. Cheese. You couldn't understand all she was saying about it, but you could clearly hear her say Chuck E Cheese. This was particularly funny when during one of the ending talks in Sacrament Meeting it was quiet and the speaker was talking about something pretty serious and she just blurted out- Chuck E. Cheese Chuck E. Cheese- like she wanted her parents to take her there right that second. All of us got a good laugh out of it.

After that we ran some errands- exchanged some diapers (romantic I know) and looking at some treadmills that had been posted on craigslist at this shape up store. (Looking for a good quality treadmill by the way- bought with some prize money- another post for another time- but I need it be at least 2.5 CHP for Eric to use it regularly too- anyone want to hook me up?)
We also went and saw Twilight at the dollar theatre on an impulse. Jack wasn't so happy about this idea as he was supposed to sleep through most the movie but woke up 20 minutes into it, and then wanted to roll and move all around that awesome popcorn drink floor, and test out his new vocal cords by screaming periodically. So we were trading him off in the back the whole movie- super romantic again I know.

But then comes the awesome part. So every year for Valentine's Eric makes me dinner. Remember that whole two birthdays, Christmas and our anniversary being all within a month of each other then with V-day we're pretty broke at that point so Eric just makes me dinner. It's usually delicious and way better than anything we ever get at a restaurant though. Last year he made lettuce wraps like they have at P.F. Changs. This year he did some more amazing things. It started out with

this fantastic steak wrapped in bacon and cooked with red and orange bell peppers and topped with sharp cheddar cheese. (He just made this up in his head, amazing!)

Artichokes (2 for $1 at Buy Low this week- the heart was so delicious!)

And the rest of the table, salad, a roll, grape juice, and not shown here, but twice baked potatoes- pretty much they are my new favorite thing, and Eric promised he would make them again for me this week because he loves me.

And our darling little Jack eating potatoes and raisins and cheerios and water. Pretty much anything we could keep him occupied with so our dinner could be eaten mostly serenely.

We were going to have chocolate fondue and dip ins for dessert, but were so full from dinner we ended up splitting a candy bar instead about 3 hours later. To top off the night we watched Sense and Sensibility. Neither Eric or I had seen it before and usually we have to focus pretty hard to understand what is going on in these movies- but this one the accents weren't that thick, the plot not too complicated-and overall it was pretty enjoyable. It's also awesome how Jane Austen loves double weddings.
